Our Legacy

Founded in Malacca, Malaysia, and now headquartered in Singapore, we have dedicated decades to providing high-quality healthcare solutions tailored to the needs of families and medical professionals.

Brief History

Indrugco's journey began in 1951 in Malacca, as People's Pharmacy, founded by registered pharmacist Mr. N. L. Chong. Initially a sole proprietorship, it quickly became a pioneer in introducing reputable pharmaceutical, healthcare, and beauty products to the region.

In 1982, recognizing the unique market dynamics of Singapore, Indrugco Pte Ltd was established as an independent entity. This strategic expansion allowed for dedicated operations in Singapore and Brunei, while the Malaysian branch continued to serve both Peninsula and East Malaysia.

Regulatory Issues

We have partner principals in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Germany, New Zealand, Korea, France, Italy, Greece and Australia. The range of products handled is wide but may be categorised into two broad categories according to regulatory requirements: ethical and OTC (over-the-counter) pharmaceuticals which may or may not require product registration. Products that do require product registration include the urological, gynaecological, certain ophthalmic products and a wide range of the generic medicines. Products that do not require registration embrace the growing group of health and nutritional supplements. In Malaysia all products which contain any health claims would be subject to product registration.
